Despite the state program “Affordable Medicines”, which covers a number of patients with chronic diseases – in particular, this concerns cardiovascular diseases, type II diabetes, bronchial asthma, mental and behavioral disorders, epilepsy and some others – there are many situations when sick people are left without the opportunity to maintain their health in a satisfactory condition in a timely manner.
Partially, these problems arise due to difficulties with provision, untimely issuance, insufficient assortment and difficulties in obtaining prescriptions. Pharmacies often experience a shortage of drugs that should be issued under the program, which leads to refusal to issue or the need to wait. Sometimes the drug is issued with a delay, which can negatively affect the health of the patient. Separately, it should be noted that not all necessary drugs, especially for rare or serious diseases, are included in the list of free ones. And, of course, the war with its disruption of logistics, destruction of the economy, medical infrastructure, etc. has a colossal impact on the effective provision of sick people with drugs.
That is why the Health and Mercy Charity Foundation considers it necessary to constantly monitor the situation with the provision of citizens with medicines, identify weak positions in this sector of the life support system and meet people’s urgent needs by organizing the distribution of necessary medicines.
