The Health and Mercy Charity Foundation
The Foundation was founded on July 23, 1999 in Zaporizhia by Professor of Surgery, Head of the Department of Surgery and Proctology of the Zaporizhia Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education Mykola Militsa — with the aim of providing charitable assistance to citizens of Ukraine in the field of health care.
The priority recipients of this assistance are socially vulnerable groups of the population and medical institutions. Such targeted assistance is designed to help improve the health of citizens, their psychological support and social adaptation.
In turn, involving specialists in the field of medicine in charitable activities helps to adjust their professional worldview, which is under great psychological strain due to the excessive commercialization of healthcare in Ukraine.
As for the support of medical institutions, the supply of medical goods, medicines and equipment, the deficit of which they experience due to a lack of funds, is a way to prevent critical situations during emergency or planned medical care for citizens.
The Health and Mercy Charity Foundation considers its mission to be to identify weaknesses in the domestic healthcare system and to contribute in every possible way to eliminating these shortcomings by providing targeted assistance, as well as accumulating the collected information and preparing practical recommendations for solving the problems that have arisen.
